The Google Pay app has been uninstalled, but payments can still be made. Why?
Google Pay stores your virtual account number on your device. Your virtual account number is used to process transactions, not the Google Pay app.
The Google Pay app is used to manage your cards and for Google Pay transaction receipts.
To cancel mobile payments, you need to reinstall the Google Pay app and remove your card from the app, or open the Settings > Connections NFC menu and Contactless Payments > Contactless Payments > Disable Google Pay (the names of settigs items may differ).
How do I remove or suspend my bank card in the Google Pay app?
To remove your card in the Google Pay app:

A confirmation message appears on the screen. Click on “Yes, remove”. Your card will be removed from the Google Pay app wallet.
The above actions do not affect the physical card and it can continue to be used for payments. If the physical card is temporarily blocked, it will be automatically suspended from Google Pay and you will no longer be able to make transactions with the card on your device.

What is a virtual account number and how is it different from my card number?
When you add your cards to Google Pay, a virtual account number is created instead of a card number. This number is used to make payments with the Google Pay app (or to return payments). This way, your card number does not go to the merchant and does not appear on the receipt. A new virtual account number is created every time a new card is added to the Google Pay app.
If you use the Google Pay app for chargeback, you may need to enter the last 4 digits of your virtual account number. The virtual account number can be found in the Google Pay app in the card details window.
The card has expired. Do I need to re-register my new card in the Google Pay app?
Yes, you will need to re-register the new card with the new expiry date in the Google Pay app.
Why is verification required when adding a payment card to Google Pay?
Adding a payment card to the Google Pay app requires card verification to protect the user’s account. Verification via SMS is done by sending a text message to the registered mobile phone number. This SMS will contain a one-time password which must be entered into the Google Pay app.
If the Bilderlings mobile app is used to add the payment card to Google Pay, no verification is required.
What if I want to sell my existing mobile device and buy a new one?

You can use Google’s Find my Device feature to permanently delete all data on your device and prevent further transactions from being processed in the Google Pay app.

Check that NFC (Near Field Communication) and HCE (Host Card Emulation) are activated in the device settings. NFC and HCE work together to send payment information to the shop to enable the purchase.
You need to check that the device is not in sleep mode or is unlocked.

If problems persist when making a payment on the contactless payment terminal, check that the device is connected to the internet and that the card is not temporarily blocked.
